Youth Forward

Youth Forward is a project supported by the Transatlantic Foundation and the European Union, aimed at high school students. Their task will be to develop a pilot project for professional guidance in their schools and to support its implementation.

WHO?

The project is implemented by the Foundation Knowledge at Work and partner schools.

WHY?

Goals:

  • Increase student engagement in professional guidance.
  • Promote inclusiveness and active participation in society.

HOW?

The project is being implemented in 5 high schools across Croatia (Istria, Kvarner, Zagreb, Zagorje/Međimurje, Slavonia). Each school forms a working group of at least 20 students and one teacher-advisor.

The students participate in a series of workshops where they learn the basics of professional guidance and project work, while simultaneously developing a professional guidance project they can implement in their school.

All 5 programs will be presented at a final event in Zagreb, where the best one will be awarded 1.000 EUR.

Project Activities

  1. Conducting Live Workshops

One live workshop will be held at each school. The workshops will focus on professional guidance, assessing student needs, and project development.

  1. Conducting Online Workshops

Two additional online workshops will be held for each group to provide support in developing their project ideas. Students will be encouraged to nominate/vote for 5 representatives for the final presentation in Zagreb.

  1. Final Ceremony/Presentation of Ideas in Zagreb

Representatives from each group will present their ideas in front of an audience. The winning group will receive a mini-grant of 1.000 EUR to implement their project.

  1. Company Visit

A two-hour visit to a reputable company will be organized for student representatives to provide insight into the work environment and job roles.
