Set against the Brexit process and its impact on the United Kingdom, NECE 2019 focused on Confronting Inequalities! The Role of Citizenship Education.  ZND team (Dr. Caroline Hornstein Tomić, Daška Domljan, Dunja Vuković and Filip Krapić) participated in panels, workshops, excursions, project market and open spaces.

She participated in the panel „It’s the Economy, stupid! – No, It’s something else“. Daška Domljan and Dunja Vuković took part in the workshop Bridging Social Inequalities in Youth Access to Learning and Employment along with representatives of initiatives from Scotland, Southern Italy and Egypt. The participants exchanged about their experiences in fighting youth unemployment, skills mismatch, and how to guide and support young people on their path to self-sustainability and active citizenships in their local communities. The workshop was convened by Caroline Hornstein Tomić. NECE offered a great chance to present our work and discuss the challenges of growing inequalities, its political causes and implications for citizenship education. Besides participating at the NECE conference our team greatly enjoyed the reception at the impressive and beautiful Glasgow City Hall.
